Getting to Langkawi

A wide range of international airlines
flies into Malaysia from around South East Asia, Australia,
Europe and beyond. The usual arrival point is Kuala
Lumpur International Airport where
passengers can connect with flights to Langkawi.
Malaysian Airlines (MAS) and Air Asia operate daily flights
between Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Langkawi International
Airport. Flights are frequent and take around 50 minutes.
Other airlines also service Langkawi on a weekly basis and
include Tradewinds, Silk Air, Eva Air, LTU and China Airlines.
Taxis are available from the airport
and the journey to Telaga Harbour takes just 15 minutes.

Ferry
Passenger ferry services run to Langkawi from three
mainland locations: Kuala Kedah (in the state of Kedah), Kuala
Perlis (in the state of Perlis) and also from Satun in Thailand,
which can be reached by road from Hatyai Airport. Ferry journey
times range from 45mins to 90mins depending on departure point.
Ferries also run from Penang Island.
On arrival at Kuah Jetty, Langkawi, taxi services are available
and the journey to Telaga Harbour takes around 40mins.
Cargo ferry services also run to Langkawi from the mainland.
Cargo arrives the day after departure at the cargo terminal
on the island.
